Character Skills System Guide

Introduction to Vessel Skills

Every Vessel (character) in Sipher Odyssey possesses a unique Sub-race Skill that defines their combat style and tactical advantages. Mastering these skills is essential to overcoming the challenges of Sipheria!

Active Skills Basics

Active Skills are special abilities that you can trigger during combat. Each sub-race has a unique Active Skill that provides distinct advantages in battle.

How to Use Skills

Activating Skills: Press the Skill button (located at the bottom of your screen) to activate your Vessel's unique ability

Cooldown Timer: After using a skill, you must wait for the cooldown to finish before using it again

3.

Skill Indicators: Visual effects will appear around your character to indicate when a skill is active

Cooldown Reduction

You can reduce skill cooldown time in several ways:

Hit Enemies: Each hit reduces cooldown by 0.1 seconds

Kill Enemies: Each kill reduces cooldown by 0.5 seconds

Take Damage: Being hit reduces cooldown by 0.1 seconds

Special Augments: Some augments and equipment can reduce cooldown times

Skill Targeting Types

Different skills use different targeting systems. Understanding how to aim and execute each type will maximize your effectiveness in combat.

Instant Targeting

How It Works: Automatically affects targets without aiming

Activation: Press the Skill button to activate immediately

Examples: Area buffs, self-shields, automatic damage to nearby enemies

Best For: Quick reactions and crowd control

Aura Skills

How It Works: Creates an effect zone around your character

Activation: Press the Skill button to activate the aura around you

Examples: Healing auras, damage reduction fields, enemy slowing zones

Best For: Team support and controlling space around you

Shape Targeting

How It Works: Creates an area effect at your chosen location

Activation: Press and hold the Skill button, aim with mouse/joystick, release to execute

Examples: Meteor strikes, explosive attacks, teleportation

Best For: Precise area damage and tactical positioning

Cone Targeting

How It Works: Affects everything in a cone-shaped area

Activation: Press and hold the Skill button, aim direction, release to execute

Examples: Force push, spreading attacks, wave attacks

Best For: Hitting multiple enemies in one direction

Line Targeting

How It Works: Affects everything in a straight line

Activation: Press and hold the Skill button, aim direction, release to execute

Examples: Laser beams, dash attacks, piercing projectiles

Best For: Hitting multiple enemies in a row

Unit Targeting

How It Works: Targets specific enemies or allies

Activation: Press the Skill button, aim at the desired target, release to execute

Examples: Single-target heal, targeted damage attack, debuff

Best For: Focusing on priority targets

Skill Phases

Each skill progresses through several phases when used:

Initiation: When you press the skill button

Aiming (if applicable): When you're directing where the skill will affect

3.

Casting: Brief moment before the skill executes

4.

Executing: When the skill is actively affecting targets

5.

Ending: When the skill effect finishes and cooldown begins

INU Skills

INU Vessels excel at versatile combat with a balance of offense and support abilities:

INU CANIS: Explosive Speed - Temporary movement and attack speed boost

INU BIOZ: Poison Cloud - Creates a toxic area that damages enemies over time

INU CYBORG: Robot Turret - Deploys an automated turret that fires at enemies

INU COSMIC: Super Nova - Launches powerful explosive projectiles

NEKO Skills

NEKO Vessels specialize in mobility and tactical positioning:

NEKO FELIS: Cat Out Of The Bag - Roll forward, damaging and stunning enemies

NEKO SYNTHETIC: Hologram - Creates a copy that can distract and damage enemies

NEKO PHASEWALKER: Shadow Walk - Become invisible to reposition or escape

NEKO CRYSTALIS: Crystal Cage - Trap enemies in crystal formations

BURU Skills

BURU Vessels focus on defense and crowd control:

BURU TAURUS: Berserk - Increases damage based on number of surrounding enemies

BURU MECHA: Energy Shield - Creates a barrier that protects from incoming damage

BURU INFERNO: Hell Gate - Creates a black hole that pulls and damages enemies

BURU ANCIENT: Ancient Guard - Absorbs projectiles and releases counter-attacks

NEZUMI Skills

NEZUMI Vessels employ trickery and technology:

NEZUMI RATTUS: Scurry - Quick evasive movement with damage potential

NEZUMI DIGITAS: Feel the Beat - Uses sound to damage and control enemies

NEZUMI TINKER: Clockwork Guardian - Deploys a decoy that attracts enemies

NEZUMI DIVINUS: Divinity Pulse - Summons and controls powerful weapons

Tips for Mastering Skills

Match Skills to Situation: Different skills excel in different scenarios

Combine with Weapons: Certain skills synergize well with specific weapon types

Team Coordination: Time your skills with teammates for maximum effectiveness

Positioning: Many skills are more effective from specific positions

Anticipate Cooldowns: Plan your skill usage to have abilities available when needed
